Time after time, Pixar announces another Toy Story sequel, and we all roll our eyes thinking, “Really?” Then we watch it and end up amazed. Pixar isn’t just a great animation studio… it’s one of the greatest film studios, period!

While this film doesn’t necessarily focus on Jessie, it uses Bonnie’s arc through Jessie’s leadership, and it works beautifully. The writing team fires on all cylinders and rarely misses a beat. More than anything, this film showcases just how much Pixar’s confidence and talent have grown over the years. Every time you think they’ve reached their peak in animation and storytelling, they somehow manage to outdo themselves with the next entry.

What I particularly loved were the toy-play animation sequences. The visuals felt surreal yet dreamlike, creating some truly stunning moments. Jessie’s closure with Emily was especially satisfying, and the additions of new humans, toys, and tech devices were a delight. Overall, to no one’s surprise, Pixar absolutely knocked it out of the park once again.
