Is it as bad as people say? Yeah, it is. Not the worst thing ever, but when you’re being compared to Madame Web… that’s never a good sign.

Other Mommy consists of so many wacky, unpredictable, laughable, and downright questionable decisions. Jessica is good in this, but that’s just about it. The initial concept is simple and could’ve been effective had they dialed down the sheer ridiculousness.

It feels like 10 writers each had an idea they wanted to incorporate, and somehow all 10 made it into the final script, resulting in one horribly mixed mess. You leave the theater with more questions than answers. The supporting characters are thrown into the story just to be completely useless.

To its credit, the film does manage to build and sustain tension remarkably well. The cinematography is also excellent, creating an eerie atmosphere that genuinely works in its favor.

I cannot believe Jessica read this script and said yes. This is one of those unfortunate cases where a terrible film somehow has an AWESOME trailer.
