Backrooms (2026)
The film was at its best when we were in the Backrooms. Unfortunately, that’s about it. Certain sequences drag on so much that my eyes started to shut from the sluggish pacing. There’s clearly a fanbase for these niche modern horror films, but I’m not part of it. My issues have nothing to do with the lore, the lack of plot, or anything like that. I just shouldn’t be leaving the theater with more questions than answers. This film is the definition of just okay. I’ll take the cheap critic way out and say it simply wasn’t for me.
